Part 1
Role play
Six prepared tasks set in a French- or Spanish-speaking context. The AI examiner plays the shop assistant, station employee, or French penfriend — and reacts to what your pupil actually says.

ISEB Common Entrance 13+ · French & Spanish
A real-time AI examiner for prep schools preparing pupils for the ISEB Common Entrance 13+ speaking exam. Pupils rehearse the three-part exam — role play, text-based task, open conversation — as many times as they need, on whatever device the school provides.
Currently rolling out with selected prep schools. Get in touch to arrange a demonstration with your MFL department.
The exam, rehearsed
Part 1
Six prepared tasks set in a French- or Spanish-speaking context. The AI examiner plays the shop assistant, station employee, or French penfriend — and reacts to what your pupil actually says.
Part 2
The candidate is given a stimulus card and answers five questions about it. Opinions and additional detail unlock the top mark band, exactly as in the real exam.
Part 3
Free-flowing discussion on a prescribed topic the pupil hasn't seen on the day. The AI probes past, present, and near-future tense — the range that the L1 mark scheme explicitly rewards.
Built for prep schools
The AI examiner stays in the language register your pupils are taught — present tense and near-future at Level 1, broader at Level 2. It will not penalise them for the absence of grammar they haven't yet met.
Every role play, stimulus card, and open-conversation question bank is written from the published 2024 specimen and recent past papers. Format is exact. Wording is original.
Published DPA, Schools Privacy Notice, ICO registration. Voice is processed in transit only — not stored on our servers. We sign your school's data agreement before pupils begin.
Pupils practise as often as they need, with different scenarios each time. There's no cap on what a school's licence covers — speaking exam preparation should not be rationed.
For prep school MFL departments
Tête-à-Tête for Common Entrance 13+ rolls out school-by-school. We’ll spend half an hour with your department, demonstrate a session, and answer questions about data protection, integration, and what your candidates actually need to practise.
No upfront cost during the early rollout — we’re still learning what helps prep schools most, and your candidates’ feedback is part of how we get there.

Common questions
No. Tête-à-Tête is an independent product. We follow the published ISEB specifications and specimen materials so that practice mirrors the real exam, but ISEB doesn't endorse us.
Pupils are accessed via the school's account — the school is the data controller, with parental consent collected through their existing enrolment. We hold ICO registration ZC135288 and sign your school's DPA before any pupil uses the service.
ISEB Common Entrance 13+ in French and Spanish, at Level 1 and Level 2. The AI examiner adapts the tense range and vocabulary register to the level you select.
