What a practice session looks like

The session follows the 0530 speaking test as Cambridge sets it out — the same components, in the same order, with the same marks attached:

10 minutes' preparation first, with the role play card in front of you — just like the real thing.
A short warm-up in Spanish to settle you in. Not assessed, exactly as in the exam.
Role Play (about 2 minutes, 10 marks). Five transactional tasks; the AI examiner stays in role and replies in Spanish.
Topic Conversation 1 (about 4 minutes). A theme you choose, developed with the examiner.
Topic Conversation 2 (about 4 minutes). A second, different theme.
The two conversations are marked together: 15 for Communication, 15 for Quality of Language — 40 marks in total across the paper.
No Photo Card, no Reading Aloud, and no Foundation/Higher split — IGCSE is single tier.
Afterwards: six skill scores (pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, interaction, confidence), a predicted grade, and written feedback on what to fix.

What's on the Cambridge IGCSE Spanish speaking exam?

Cambridge IGCSE Spanish (0530) has the same speaking structure as Cambridge IGCSE French (0520). The test lasts about 10 minutes: a short warm-up that isn't assessed, then one role play where you answer five transactional questions (about two minutes, 10 marks), then two topic conversations of about four minutes each. The two conversations are marked together — 15 marks for Communication and 15 for Quality of Language — so the paper totals 40 marks. You get 10 minutes of supervised preparation beforehand, during which you study the role play card. There is no photo card and no reading aloud in IGCSE, and there is no Foundation/Higher split.
